We are committed to modeling best practices as global privacy standards continue to evolve, and we will roll out additional updates from time-to-time with the goal of increasing transparency and strengthening consent across all of our systems, for all of our supporters worldwide. Our Privacy Policy explains why we collect particular information through our website and how we work to protect your personal privacy. Noonautics Inc. (“Noonautics”) is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organization, and with the many visitors a month to noonautics.org, there is safety in numbers. In all cases, Noonautics is a strong supporter of individual privacy and we do everything we can to safeguard information about our visitors. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy” or “Policy”) describes how we collect, use, and share information that can reasonably be used to identify a natural person directly or indirectly (“Personal Information”). It applies to Personal Information collected by us or provided to us through any means except for the following information:

• Information collected from individuals who volunteer for Noonautics-sponsored clinical research projects.
• Information about organizations for which we serve as the fiscal sponsor.

Any such change will be effective immediately upon posting, unless otherwise stated. What Information We Collect

Information from Online Form Submissions

Our online forms ask users to give us contact information that may include name, email address, address, interests, and similar information. We neither request nor store sensitive information from our visitors, such as credit card or social security numbers.

In some cases, we hold publicly available information from social media platforms (such as social media handles or number of followers) on our systems. Should we want to reach out to a particular social media handle, we would do so using the contact information provided publicly.

Information from Third Parties

We may obtain your Personal Information via third-parties. For example:

• When you donate to us via an online tool and you have given your consent to process the donation, the fundraising platform that processes your donation provides us with information about you and about how the donation was made. Please check their privacy policies when you give them your information. 
• The email platform we use to communicate with you collects information on (i) who opened the email and (ii) what content was clicked. This allows us to determine which stories are popular and to better tailor our communications in the future. The data is aggregated and not used for personal identification.

If you contact us through our website or directly email us, we usually collect your:

• name
• contact information (e.g., email address, telephone number)
• content of communications (e.g., the content of an email or any information you provide to us in your comments or voluntary feedback forms.)

When you donate to us you may be asked to provide:

• your name, address, and financial information (which are handled by payment processors used by our digital donor platform)
• the address associated with the donation
• additional information may be collected when donors enter into a separate donation agreement outside of this website

When you use our websites, we automatically collect usage information which may include:

• your IP address and other unique identifiers

• referring and exit web pages and URLs

How We Use Certain Information Collected from Our Website

Internet Protocol (IP) Address

We collect an Internet Protocol (IP) address from all visitors to our Site. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our Site, analyze trends, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use to help us to improve the site, and deliver customized, personalized content. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

As with almost all websites, temporary log files are kept which identify some information about our visitors, including the IP addresses of machines that access the site. Our Web logs are not available to the public. These logs allow Site administrators to see how many people visit the Site, how many pages have been accessed, which pages are accessed most frequently, and which links are leading people to the site.

Standard logs (including ours) also track which pages are visited by each IP address. We automatically obtain certain information when you use our websites. However, Noonautics endeavors to not track the activity of our supporters in any personally identifiable way.

  • Our website uses “sharing buttons” which share our web pages to social media platforms. Please be aware that when you use these buttons, social media platforms may track these shares through your accounts.

Who Has Access to Your Personal Information

Our trained staff, Noonautics-controlled affiliates and subsidiaries and organizations that partner with us have access to your Personal Information as required to conduct our operations. We also share data with vendors and, in limited circumstances, with third parties.

• Trained Staff
  • The information we hold about you is accessible by trained staff, volunteers, and contractors. We regularly review who has access to the information and do comprehensive checks on any contractors before we work with them
• Group Organizations
  • We share Personal Information with our fully-owned subsidiaries as reasonably necessary to pursue our mission in a manner that is consistent with your expectations. 
• Partner Organizations
  • We may share your information with other like-minded organizations that partner with us and support our fundraising efforts. For example, when you donate money for a program sponsored by partner organization, we may share information about your donation with that organization. However, we will not sell or exchange under any circumstances your payment information with any organization other than the service providers that help us process your donations or payments. We endeavor to carefully choose our partners, and expect them to respect your preferences just like we do.
• Vendors
  • We use other companies to help us manage and store Personal Information, and to carry out certain activities on our behalf.  These may include service providers that (a) conduct research and analytics; (b) create content; (c) host our websites; (d) handle donations; (e) maintain our databases, or (f) otherwise provide support to us. 
• Other Third Parties
  • We may be required to disclose your Personal Information to the government or to third parties pursuant to mandatory court orders, subpoenas, and similar requests. We may also disclose your Personal Information when we otherwise believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary or appropriate in connection with activities that violate the law or may expose us to liability.

How Long We Keep Personal Information

We retain Personal Information only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which the data was collected, except where necessary to: meet our legal obligations; to establish, exercise, or defend potential legal claims; or to pursue other legitimate interests.

If you request to receive no further contact from us, we will keep some basic information about you on our suppression list in order to avoid sending you unwanted materials in the future.

How to Remove Identifying Information

If you have previously submitted information to our Site and would like to have your name or contact information removed from the submission, please email privacy@noonautics.org. We are also happy to delete your information from our database, in accordance with the “right to be forgotten.”

What Security Measures We Use

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures and precautions in order to protect your information and to prevent the loss, misuse, or alteration of your Personal Information. While we work to keep the information about you safe, we cannot guarantee its security.

All information provided to Noonautics is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our Site that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of Noonautics. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.

If you ever discover inaccuracies in our data or in your personally identifiable information (“PII”), or if you become aware of your information or PII being made available online without authorization, we urge you to notify us immediately. In the unlikely event an unauthorized third-party compromises the Site’s security measures, the Site will not be responsible for any damages directly or indirectly caused by an unauthorized third party’s ability to view, use or disseminate such information. Your use of this site is an acknowledgement that Noonautics shall not be responsible or liable for any dissemination of your information that results from your disclosure of such information to any third party.

Your Data Protection Rights Under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Where the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679, or GDPR, applies, in certain circumstances and subject to data processing agreements, you have rights in relation to the personal information we hold about you. Please note that we will require you to verify your identity before responding to any requests to exercise your rights by providing details only known to the account holder. Please note that for each of the rights below we may have valid legal reasons to refuse your request and, in such instances, we will let you know if that is the case. If you wish to be informed what Personal Data we hold about you and if you want it to be removed from our systems, please contact us.

• The right of rectification. You have the right to have your information rectified if that information is inaccurate or incomplete.
